Liuyu Ivy Chen is a writer, translator, and mother. Born and raised in the mountainous region of central Zhejiang, China, she pursued higher education in Beijing and New York. Ivy's literary journey coincides with her footprint, exploring concepts of selfhood, love, and migration across geographic borders. She co-founded TransWords Translations LLC and translated numerous artistic materials and human rights reports for arts and nonprofit organizations in the past decade. She was also the program coordinator for the Getty Foundation's Connecting Art Histories program-Beyond the Northern Aegean. In 2024, she returned to graduate school to study pre-modern Chinese literature and culture at Columbia University. Her research focuses on Ming Qing literature and early modern China-Mediterranean contact. She lives in Brooklyn with her adorable son.
